Basic training for any force was a pile of rubbish. I am ex military UK, but unless you are in shallow water, then picking up a rifle from the bottom of the floor of a swimming pool is not going to help. All what I see from this drill is my rifle is my weapon, my rifle and I are one, picking up a dead weight above the 9lbs that this weapon would be better, or a human body.

Weird exercise. The simple trick to it is to keep your chin tucked in tight, so that your nostrils are below your pharynx. This keeps water from going down the throat, because if that happens, you just literally start drowning, and there isn't really anything your "inner will" is going to do to fix that. Guess you could also just hold your breath during the waterboarding, then swallow it when the instructor moves onto the next guy.

I'd drown, no question in my mind. Lol
